Hiking around Chania

The first contact of the visitor with the Cretan hiking terrain could be the easy loop walks around the venetian fortress and the old horbour in Chania.

In Akrotiri, the hiker can combine the existing paths and shape long loop trails, such as the route around Gouverneto monastery, or long crossings, like the Rizoskloko-Stavros route.

Around Therisso, an important hiking network is under construction. When completed, it will offer the possibility for long trails, connecting the Metamorfosi Sotira monastery to the villages of Therisso, Meskla and Zourva.
